What's Hapening at Parker ...

Parker notified of FDA 510(k) approval for nasotracheal intubation.

In June, 2010, the U.S. FDA granted Parker Medical’s 510(k) application for clearance to sell Parker Flex-Tip tubes for nasal intubation in the U.S. This allows us to close a large previous gap in our domestic endotracheal tube product line, and to better serve the needs of paramedics, emergency room physicians, dentist anesthesiologists, and oral surgeons who perform a substantial number of nasotracheal intubations.

Popularity of Parker Flex-Tip tubes surges in Japan.

After introduction of the Parker tubes in Japan in November 2008, sales have grown at a phenomenal rate. At the invitation of prominent Japanese physicians and the sponsorship of Parker Medical’s Japanese distributor, Kobayashi Medical Co., Ltd., Dr. Parker has completed five successful speaking tours in Japan. He has lectured to anesthesia faculties and met with leading professors at major university and public hospitals throughout Japan (most recently in June, 2010). Parker Medical’s products have been featured by Kobayashi at major professional meetings, including the Japan Society for Clinical Anesthesia and the Japanese Society of Anesthesiologists. At these meetings, other American and Japanese physicians also gave lectures and presentations of their own research and experiences regarding superior performance of the Parker Flex-Tip tubes in comparison to conventional tubes.

Physicians in Australia and New Zealand show enthusiastic acceptance of the Parker Flex-Tip technology.

A significant increase in sales of Parker tubes has been reported by our distributors (Proact Medical Systems in Australia and Obex Medical Ltd in New Zealand) following Dr. Parker’s recent speaking tours in both countries. At the invitation of prominent Australian and New Zealand physicians and the sponsorship of those distributors, Dr. Parker lectured to anesthesia faculties at major university, public, and private hospitals in both countries (most recently in June, 2010). The Parker products were also featured by our distributors in their booths at the annual ANZCA (Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists) congress in Christchurch, NZ.

Dental anesthesiologists impressed with Parker Flex-Tip endotracheal tubes

Attendees at the ASDA (American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists) annual convention in Seattle on April 16-18 were impressed by Parker’s line of nasotracheal tubes, and by recent studies which focused on their safety. This is an exciting specialty market. We are currently interviewing distributors who wish to expand their product lines into this growing market. Interested parties can contact Mark Landgren, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, 303-799-1990.

CRNAs learn about Parker products.

Dr. Parker lectured about trauma to the airway during intubation at a national anesthesia review and update seminar for CRNAs in Key West, Florida in March.

Safety of Parker tubes emphasized in recent clinical studies.

IS NASOTRACHEAL INTUBATION WITH PARKER FLEX-TIP TUBES LESS TRAUMATIC TO THE AIRWAY AND LESS PAINFUL TO PATIENTS THAN WITH CONVENTIONAL TIP TUBES?

Impressive performance of Parker tubes with various intubating devices.

In addition to airway safety, Parker tubes have been studied in comparison to conventional tip tubes for ease of use with various intubating devices, as well as for accuracy, time required for intubation, and other criteria. Independent clinical studies regarding these topics are contained on this website. Click on “ABOUT US,” then “ARTICLES & ABSTRACTS” to read these clinicals.
